SUMMARY:A Community Quilt Project: My Hope for America
DESCRIPTION:As our country approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declarat
 ion of Independence\, rePlay is participating in Becoming America\, a nati
 onal art project from Women Building Peace. We will join artists and maker
 s from across the nation in sharing their hopes for America's future by cr
 eating a community quilt. We invite YOU to add your voice by making one sq
 uare - no sewing experience needed - in response to a simple\, open-ended 
 prompt: \n\nMy hope for America is…\n\nYour quilt square might reflect 
 what you hope our nation can become\, what you feel called to protect\, or
  what you believe we can build together.\n\nThis is a project for all of u
 s — non-partisan\, open-hearted\, and rooted in hope. Whether you're a l
 ifelong fiber artist or someone who's never made a quilt before\, your voi
 ce belongs here. Feel free to use any material or art technique - drawing\
 , painting\, embroidery\, quilting\, beading\, or whatever your heart desi
 res -  as long as it will hold up on a piece of fabric. \n\nPick up a fr
 ee kit at rePlay Arts. Inside you'll find a cotton square\, a planning tem
 plate\, and full instructions. Take it home (or work on it at rePlay!)\, m
 ake it yours\, and return your completed square to us by July 15th. \n\nK
 its are available at rePlay starting Tuesday 5/26 during open hours: Tuesd
 ays 11-6\, Wednesdays 11-6\, and Saturdays 10-4\n\nA few guidelines to kee
 p in mind: \n\n 	\n\n 	All content should be positive\, uplifting\, and a
 ppropriate for all audiences.\n 	Consistent with the project's cross-parti
 san values\, we will not accept submissions that use disparaging or dehuma
 nizing language or are overly partisan.\n 	Please use materials durable en
 ough to survive quilting\, packaging\, and mailing.\n 	We may make materia
 l alterations to some submissions so that every square will shine and play
  well with its neighbors! Content will not be changed. \n 	We reserve the
  right to exclude squares that fall outside these guidelines or that may c
 ause damage to surrounding squares.\n\n\n\nWe can’t wait to turn the hop
 es and dreams of our community into a work of art!
